Job description

Role overview

This permanent part-time role (0.5 FTE) sits within Justice Services Criminal at the District Court North Shore in Tāmaki Makaurau. The position supports the smooth running of daily court operations through administration assistance and customer service.

You will work alongside Court Registry Officers, helping them manage hearings and case files. The role also includes a visit to the local prison every two weeks, with the site location noted as Waitakere District Court.

Key duties

  • Deliver prompt and effective service to court customers
  • Assist Judges and Court Registry Officers inside and outside the courtroom
  • Introduce Judges or Judicial Officers in court in both English and Te Reo Māori
  • Help coordinate jury service and support jurors during trial hearings
  • Provide administrative help such as photocopying, scanning, and filing
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail
  • Manage evidence items and exhibits
  • Carry out data entry tasks
  • Offer guidance and support to a varied customer base

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should bring proven experience in customer service. The position calls for someone who is confident, capable of juggling multiple tasks, adaptable to change, and open to learning new things. A positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges are important.

Pay

The salary range for this position is NZD 56,343 to NZD 74,416. The final offer will depend on your skills and experience.
