Job Overview

This position offers the chance to influence and shape the national delivery of registry and customer services, impacting how thousands of New Zealanders interact with the justice system annually. The National Manager Centralised Services/Registrar will lead the nation-wide registry and customer service functions integral to court and tribunal operations, driving service design, operational excellence, and cross-sector collaboration to enhance outcomes for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for national centralised services and registry functions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, judicial partners, internal and external stakeholders to promote cohesive justice sector outcomes.
  • Lead initiatives to improve service delivery and drive transformation across the organisation and wider justice system.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience managing large-scale national customer service, contact centre, centralised processing, or service delivery operations.
  • Proven capability to influence and build credibility with senior leaders and stakeholders operating in complex environments.
  • Strong systems thinking and collective leadership skills to integrate strategy, policy, performance, and service delivery effectively.
  • Experience leading organizational change, service transformation, or continuous improvement programs.
  • Track record of leading through others, nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Robust commercial, financial, and risk management expertise.
  • Adeptness at handling ambiguity, juggling priorities, and making sound decisions within complex frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including preparing advice and responding to executive, parliamentary, or ministerial requests.
  • Commitment to enhancing outcomes for Māori and embedding culturally responsive leadership approaches.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between NZD 177,308 and NZD 244,038 annually, depending on skills and experience.
