Job description

Role overview

This fixed-term Court Registry Officer opportunity runs for 12 months and sits within Justice Services Criminal at Kaitaia District Court, serving the Te Tai Tokerau Family Jurisdiction in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand.

In this position, you will be part of a team that keeps court operations running smoothly. The role involves working with a range of people who engage with the justice system, including clear and professional communication with Judges in court and in chambers, along with other judiciary members.

Key duties

  • Support court sessions by helping manage the flow of proceedings, including formally introducing Judges in both English and Te Reo Māori, assisting in the courtroom and chambers, and handling general court administration.
  • Oversee case coordination by making sure the Judiciary and all case participants have the information they need and that arrangements are in place for hearings to proceed efficiently.
  • Provide customer service for court-related queries through in-person conversations, phone calls, and email communication.

Pay and application details

The salary range for this role is NZD 60,729 to NZD 80,794, with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
