About the Role
Join the Gisborne District Court team as a Court Registry Officer, where you'll support the smooth functioning of court operations by collaborating with various stakeholders including applicants, respondents, family members, legal practitioners, and Oranga Tamariki. This role demands confident communication with Judges both inside the courtroom and in their chambers.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate court proceedings by assisting with court taking duties, including introducing Judges in both English and Te Reo Māori, and managing general administrative tasks within the courtroom and Judges' chambers.
- Deliver excellent customer service through the court's onsite customer service area, effectively handling inquiries via face-to-face interactions, telephone calls, and emails relating to court matters.
- Manage case files to ensure all information is accurate and current, primarily through detailed data entry and ongoing case management.
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality decision-making and problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented and vigilant to ensure accuracy amidst complex court processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team across diverse situations.
- Multitasking capabilities to handle repetitive processes while prioritizing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt as legislation and court procedures evolve.
- Resilience to manage sensitive and high-volume caseloads effectively.

Salary
The salary range for this position is between $60,729 and $80,794 annually, with remuneration reflective of experience and skills. Higher salaries within the band may be offered for strong candidates.
