Job description
Overview
Adecco is working with a public-sector organisation that focuses on mental health and counselling support. The role is for a Counsellor who will assist with individual and group counselling, guide supervisors on team well-being, and help run educational initiatives related to mental health.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one and group counselling to support the emotional and psychological well-being of personnel.
- Advise supervisors on practical ways to handle mental health concerns within their teams.
- Work alongside medical officers, psychiatrists, and psychologists to strengthen mental health programmes.
- Take part in counselling hotline coverage, including two 24-hour shifts each month.
- Plan and conduct talks, learning sessions, and workshops that build awareness and skills around mental health.
- Assist with programme coordination, including scheduling, logistics, and preparation of materials.
Requirements
- A postgraduate qualification in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology is mandatory.
- Prior experience in counselling for mental health and substance abuse, across both individual and group formats, is needed.
- Strong interpersonal ability, communication skills, and advisory capability are important for the role.
- Working knowledge of IT tools and Microsoft Office applications is expected.
- Membership in recognised professional bodies such as the Singapore Association of Social Workers, Singapore Association for Counselling, or Singapore Psychological Society is preferred.
