Job description

Position Overview

This is a full-time contractual Resource Coordinator role with the Worcester County Local Management Board (LMB), based at the MDH Worcester County Health Department in Snow Hill, Maryland. The position provides day-to-day operational support and subject-matter assistance for agency activities, while also coordinating with community organizations, public agencies, stakeholders, and residents to advance the work of the Worcester County LMB and its Hub.

The role also supports the Director in overseeing and coordinating child and family preservation programs funded through the Governor’s Office of Children and designated by the county government.

Work Location

MDH Worcester County Health Department, 6040 Public Landing Road, Snow Hill, MD 21863. The position may require travel to all Worcester County Health Department locations and to sites outside the county for monitoring, implementation, statewide meetings, and training. It also involves coordination work in Somerset and Wicomico counties, where the LMB will operate as the Community Partner Hub through grant funding from the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission.

Core Duties

  • Help keep daily operations running smoothly for the LMB and the LMB Hub.
  • Assist with community planning and coordinate, organize, and facilitate Hub Steering Committee meetings.
  • Partner with subvendors by providing technical guidance and coordination to support the LMB and Hub objectives.
  • Contribute to program quality assurance activities.
  • Review and monitor subvendor invoices, reports, and expenditures.
  • Support the development of contracts.

Minimum Qualifications

A candidate should have completed high school or earned a recognized high school equivalency credential, along with at least one year of administrative or professional experience in a health care environment.

Substitutions and Alternate Qualifications

  • Thirty college credit hours from an accredited college or university may replace the required experience.
  • Relevant U.S. Armed Forces experience may be accepted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, if served as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or in Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes within a health-related field.

Selection Process

Only applicants who satisfy the minimum and any selective qualifications will move forward in the review process. Evaluation may be based on how well your application reflects your education, training, and experience in relation to the job requirements. You should submit complete and accurate details, including education, work history, dates, and hours worked, and clearly identify any college degree and major.

For education completed outside the United States, any offer will depend on providing a foreign credential equivalency evaluation before employment begins, and such an evaluation may be requested before an interview.

Applications must be submitted by the closing date, and information added after that deadline will not be considered. Incorrect forms will not be accepted, and a resume cannot replace the required completed application. The resulting certified eligible list may remain active for at least one year and may be used to fill similar vacancies in this or other state agencies.

Benefits

Contractual employees in agencies covered by the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program may qualify for subsidized health coverage if they have a current contract and work at least 30 hours per week, or an average of 130 hours per month. Medical and prescription coverage for the employee and enrolled dependents are subsidized at 75% by the State, while the employee pays 25% of the premium.

Optional coverage may also be elected for dental insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, though the full premium cost for those options is paid by the employee.

Leave accrues at one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year.
