Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Maker for comprehensive trade finance processing activities covering Singapore and Hong Kong Trade Finance, including Import and Export Letters of Credit (LC) issuance, amendments, acceptances, payments, advising, confirmation, negotiation, discounting, reimbursements, guarantees, and risk participations.
- Ensure business-as-usual tasks in Singapore and Hong Kong trade finance operations are conducted smoothly within designated timeframes and transaction cut-offs.
- Process all trade finance transactions adhering strictly to procedural manuals, applicable rules, and compliance regulations.
- Conduct KYC and Anti-Money Laundering checks on trade finance transactions managed by the team.
- Enter trade finance transactions into processing systems, generate customer advice and entries, handle payment-related SWIFT messaging, communicate with customers via email and fax, handle document organization including photocopying and filing.
- Contribute to digitalization projects and business continuity plans relevant to the team's job scope.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by team leadership or management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3 to 5 years' experience handling import and export Letter of Credit documentation and bill processing.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong expertise in commodity Letters of Credit and bills processing.
- Document verification skills preferred; possession of CDCS certification and commodity trade LC document exposure advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of ICC guidelines, specifically the latest UCP, ISBP, and ISP editions.
- Competence in trade finance due diligence, AML, and sanction screening.
- Experience with Trade Innovation Plus platform is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment under fast-paced conditions.
- Availability to work during Singapore public holidays is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
