Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and highly organised Finance Officer specialising in Accounts Payable to join our Finance team remotely. This permanent position entails ensuring prompt and accurate processing of supplier payments while supporting continuous enhancement of finance workflows. The role reports to the Finance Operations Lead and involves collaborative engagement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process supplier invoices within agreed timeframes.
- Manage and resolve supplier queries and issues efficiently.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
- Support bi-monthly payment runs and facilitate manual payment transactions.
- Assist with procurement activities and management of company credit card schemes.
- Provide support for banking operations including direct debit collections and refunds as required.
- Maintain financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in finance processes and systems.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable handling numerical data. They demonstrate excellent multi-tasking capabilities while maintaining accuracy and precision in their work.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of three years experience in an Accounts Payable or transactional finance role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service mindset.
- A proactive attitude and dedication to continuous improvement.
Experience in the not-for-profit sector or familiarity with invoice capture systems would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
Salary and Working Conditions
This remote, full-time role requires 35 hours weekly, Monday through Friday. The annual salary is £34,608.
