Role Overview

As a Recoveries Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting IAG's recoveries operations by managing recoveries tasks, engaging with customers and suppliers, and achieving positive outcomes through effective problem solving and negotiation. This role primarily involves phone communication, requiring comfort in maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders.

Working Arrangement

This position is mostly remote-based, with an initial four-week training period that requires office attendance. After training, you will need to be present at the office at least once per month for team collaboration. The role is a fixed-term contract lasting up to 12 months, located anywhere in Australia where IAG has offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers by offering guidance, assistance, and resolving issues.
  • Manage all recovery-related activities effectively.
  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet team goals collaboratively.
  • Achieve performance targets while contributing to continuous improvement of team and business results.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, policy, and procedural requirements.
  • Lead initiatives that drive enhancements in customer experience, compliance, and commercial outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in customer-facing roles; prior insurance industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a confident and approachable manner.
  • Self-driven team player capable of thriving in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Analytical thinker with solid numerical skills and business insight.
  • Adaptable and solution-oriented with comfort handling ambiguity and change.
  • Empathetic approach to supporting customers through difficult situations professionally and compassionately.
