This particular role focuses on finance expertise in model risk, compliance, and payment processes within a fully remote and part-time contract setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of model inventories including categorization, validation methods, ongoing monitoring, governance strategies, and control frameworks.
- Analyze payment operations encompassing card authorizations, settlements, chargebacks, as well as ACH and wire reconciliation.
- Assess and review fraud prevention mechanisms, anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance processes, escalation pathways, and operational risk factors.
- Identify deficiencies such as control weaknesses, incorrect assumptions, incomplete supporting evidence, and documentation gaps.
- Compose clear and logical justifications linking identified issues to risks, policies, and operational implications.
- Ensure analytical work aligns with accepted professional standards for model risk and compliance through review and adjustment.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 to 12 years of relevant practitioner experience, or 10 to 16 years in a senior reviewer capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in areas like model risk management, validation, compliance, payments, fraud detection, AML, sanctions, or closely related financial services controls.
- In-depth understanding of one or more payment systems and their associated operational risks.
- Strong grasp of governance, documentation, testing methodologies, monitoring techniques, and remediation of issues.
- Excellent skills in written communication, including the ability to articulate precise and verifiable risk assessments.
- Experience overseeing or approving analytical work is a significant advantage, particularly for senior roles.
