Job description

About the company

Stripe provides financial infrastructure for businesses, helping millions of companies—from major global enterprises to fast-growing startups—accept payments, expand revenue, and unlock new business opportunities. The company’s purpose is to raise the GDP of the internet, and it aims to make global economic participation accessible to everyone.

Role overview

Stripe is hiring a senior operator and systems-oriented professional to join the Central Strategy and Operations team. This is a senior individual contributor position for someone who understands how organizations really function and can design the operational backbone that helps Stripe move faster, communicate more clearly, and stay coordinated as it grows.

Central Strategy & Operations sits at the heart of company execution. In this role, you will own the core mechanics of company operations, including planning processes, operating cadences, information structure, and cross-functional systems that support better and quicker leadership decisions. The position is focused on building better systems rather than simply coordinating work, and it rewards people who redesign broken processes, automate wherever possible, and prefer scalable solutions over additional headcount.

What you will do

  • Lead company-wide planning efforts, including Stripe’s annual planning process and related workstreams, while improving the decision-making frameworks used by leadership and simplifying workflows through automation and process redesign.
  • Create, automate, and expand the infrastructure that supports central operations by replacing manual, repetitive, or disconnected workflows with scalable systems such as structured data pipelines, AI-supported processes, and new tooling.
  • Convert strategic direction into day-to-day execution by helping shape leadership discussions, preparing and running executive forums, contributing your own perspective, and ensuring follow-through on decisions.
  • Continuously improve operating effectiveness by working closely with senior leaders, identifying breakdowns in decision-making, handoffs, and accountability, and addressing the root causes across teams.

Minimum requirements

Candidates should have substantial experience in operational roles within high-growth technology companies, along with a history of building and owning systems that measurably improve how a company or team operates. Strong experience in company or functional planning is important, including annual planning, OKR/SOKR-style goal setting, resource allocation, and operating cadence design. The role also requires a systems mindset, comfort with automation-first approaches, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work directly with senior executives and present confidently to C-suite stakeholders. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, scoping unclear operational problems, and driving solutions end to end with limited supervision. Technical fluency with AI tools and experience applying automation and scale to operational workflows are also needed. Prior experience at a technology company is required.

Preferred background

Experience in fintech, management consulting, or investment banking is considered an advantage. Familiarity with Stripe’s product and infrastructure ecosystem, or with similarly complex platform businesses, is also helpful. Experience using modern planning tools, workflow automation platforms, and operational data infrastructure is preferred.

Work arrangement

This position is offered as either office-based or remote, provided the remote location is at least 35 miles (56 kilometers) from a Stripe office. Office-based employees are expected to spend at least 50% of each month in their local office or with users. Remote employees are expected to work primarily from home, though office visits for team meetings, on-sites, meetups, and events may still happen. Stripe does not pay for relocation to a remote location.

Compensation and benefits

The annual base pay range in the United States for this role is $191,500 to $287,300. For sales positions, published ranges represent on-target earnings, but that does not apply here. The final salary range may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location, and may be adjusted during the interview process. Candidates outside the United States may request local salary information during interviews. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and wellness stipends.
