About The Role
Join Thames-Coromandel District Council as a Community Partnerships Coordinator, contributing to the enrichment and resilience of local communities. This position provides an opportunity to foster positive social change across the Thames-Coromandel district by working with diverse partners who prioritize community wellbeing.
Reporting directly to the Community Resilience Manager, you will collaborate with community organisations, iwi groups, government bodies, funding agencies, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders. Your role will include identifying key community needs, supporting projects and initiatives led by community members, facilitating access to funding, and strengthening collaborative networks that enable communities to meet their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with community members and stakeholders.
- Supporting initiatives and projects that arise from community leadership and vision.
- Seeking and securing external funding opportunities to support community activities.
- Assisting in the implementation of community safety and resilience programs.
- Engaging in partnerships with iwi and diverse groups throughout the district.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in community development, social services, local government, or related areas.
- Deep understanding of social and community-related issues and challenges.
- Successful track record in obtaining grants, funding, and external investments.
- Strong capabilities in building relationships and engaging stakeholders effectively.
- Proficient project management skills along with excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence diverse groups at various levels.
- Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
