Overview

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was created under Emiri Decision No. 13 of 2022 and is Qatar’s first national university dedicated to applied, technical, and professional higher education. The university offers more than 70 programs across bachelor’s, master’s, diploma, and certificate levels through five colleges: Business; Computing and Information Technology; Engineering and Technology; Health Sciences; and General Education. It also operates specialized training centers for individuals and organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and translate UDST communication materials for a range of channels while keeping messaging and tone consistent.
  • Help distribute accurate university news, publications, and updates across internal and external digital and offline media platforms.
  • Write and circulate content for publications, promotional material, marketing collateral, press releases, print channels, and social media in support of the university’s communication plans.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with media contacts to encourage favorable coverage across digital media, television, radio, and print.
  • Handle media enquiries related to interviews, photos, and other information, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, and supportive of UDST’s image.
  • Provide media training support to senior leaders and academic staff when needed.
  • Assist with researching and preparing speaking notes for executives and invited guests for corporate events and press conferences.
  • Work with business units across the university to identify achievements, developments, and positive stories that strengthen the brand.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications is required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in communications or a closely related area is required.
  • Strong written and spoken fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
  • The role is intended for Qatari nationals only.
