Job description
Role Overview
This internship is designed to help a student step into a real working environment and contribute in much the same way as a regular employee, while building practical experience in a banking setting.
Key Duties
- Follow the organization’s working hours, internal procedures, workplace rules, and expectations for professional conduct.
- Protect confidential information and comply with all policies related to privacy and sensitive data.
- Take responsibility for personal actions, decisions, and assigned work.
- Build and maintain respectful working relationships with colleagues, customers, and others.
- Approach policies and procedures with professionalism, openness, curiosity, and sound judgment.
- Apply classroom learning to real business situations.
- Develop greater self-awareness around attitudes, values, and habits that affect performance at work.
- Use conferences and learning opportunities provided by the company to strengthen skills.
- Submit assignments on time and keep both the supervisor and faculty coordinator updated consistently.
- Share periodic progress updates with the faculty coordinator.
- Handle customer business and personal information with strict confidentiality and maintain trust at all times.
- Support the team by taking on responsibilities and projects assigned by the supervisor to add value to the bank.
- Work effectively with teammates and members of the public in a positive, cooperative manner.
- Complete required and elective training, including Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering training, and follow all applicable regulations and compliance requirements.
- Maintain reliable, regular attendance, which is an essential part of the role.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Candidates must currently be enrolled in a college degree program; finance or accounting is preferred.
- Applicants should have basic computer ability and be comfortable using common office tools such as a calculator, typewriter, telephone, fax machine, and related equipment.
