Job description
Role Overview
Farmers National Bank of Canfield is looking for a part-time Teller in Shreve, Ohio. This role is centered on handling day-to-day banking transactions at the teller station while creating a helpful, professional customer experience. The position also involves identifying customer needs, suggesting suitable bank products and services, and directing clients to the right employees or departments when additional assistance is needed.
Key Duties
- Process routine customer transactions at the teller counter with accuracy and efficiency.
- Build knowledge of bank offerings so customer needs can be identified and relevant products can be suggested.
- Take part in the bank referral program and use available tools or technology to support referral results.
- Work toward referral targets that may be measured weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or annually.
- Balance the cash drawer and terminal each day.
- Handle savings, checking, and Holiday Savings account transactions, loan payments, safe deposit box rental payments, money order and official check sales, and cash withdrawals.
- Accept checks for cashing according to the bank’s check-handling procedures.
- Complete all mandatory training and any other required learning programs.
- Support teamwork and remain flexible to help create a positive branch environment.
- Assist with duties related to money shipments, orders, and similar branch activities.
- Take on additional branch responsibilities beyond transaction processing when needed.
- Protect customer cash, transactions, and personal information in line with security policies and procedures.
- Make outbound sales calls to current and prospective clients as needed.
- Adjust work schedule flexibility to support branch staffing and customer service needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business and personal information responsibly.
- Carry out assignments and special projects delegated by a supervisor.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers and the public in a positive team-based environment.
- Complete required and elective compliance training, including BSA and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
- Keep regular and dependable attendance as an essential part of the role.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates should be able to carry out the listed responsibilities successfully and may be provided reasonable accommodations where appropriate. The role calls for prior cash handling experience, strong basic computer ability, and comfort using office equipment such as a calculator, typewriter, phone, and fax machine. Customer service and/or sales experience at any level is also required.
Education and Compliance
