Job description
Overview
Madison Berkeley is seeking a Commercial Asset Manager & Leasing Surveyor to join their entrepreneurial property investment firm, which manages a commercial portfolio valued at over A360 million across the South East of England. This role offers a unique chance to work closely with the Managing Director and have substantial influence over portfolio management, particularly in offices, retail, and mixed-use properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations and management of lease renewals, rent reviews, lease re-gears, and new lettings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants and occupiers to support retention and satisfaction.
- Drive asset management initiatives and contribute to comprehensive business planning for portfolio optimization.
- Identify and implement opportunities that enhance income streams and overall asset value.
- Oversee and coordinate external agents and professional advisors to ensure service delivery aligns with company objectives.
- Analyze service charge performance and operational costs to identify savings or efficiencies.
- Assist with acquisition strategies and repositioning projects to support portfolio growth.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in asset management, whether client-side or consultancy, with significant exposure to leasing, landlord and tenant issues, and property refurbishments.
- Professional accreditation such as MRICS is preferred but not mandatory.
- A commercially driven, proactive approach with a capacity to take ownership and initiative without constant oversight.
- Desire to work in a smaller, agile environment where personal impact is highly valued over being part of a large corporation.
