Role Overview
We seek a skilled Commercial and Business Investment Analyst to enhance how the company evaluates and governs expenditures and investments. This impactful position spans multiple departments including Operations, Property, Technology, and People & Culture, supporting informed spending and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a standardized business case framework including templates and guidelines.
- Coach managers to prepare thorough business cases assessing projects, initiatives, and investments.
- Apply strong commercial insight to challenge assumptions and clarify proposals covering problems, options, financial and operational impacts, risks, and expected benefits.
- Perform dynamic financial modelling and identify opportunities to innovate service delivery.
- Partner with Commercial Finance to assist with project setup, budgeting, reporting, and tracking benefits to ensure transparency and accountability post-approval.
- Drive process improvements, workflow design, and governance controls to enhance decision quality and delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience preparing high-quality business cases, investment proposals, or commercial decision-support documents.
- Skillful in financial modelling techniques such as cost-benefit, sensitivity, and scenario analyses.
- Adept at translating complex data into clear recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
- Experienced in building frameworks and processes to enhance consistency and quality of decisions.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, curious, and able to constructively challenge existing approaches.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and leadership.
- Highly organized, proactive, and skilled at managing multiple competing priorities.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and quick adaptability to new systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in aged care, healthcare, social infrastructure, or other service-centric industries.
- Experience in project governance, PMO functions, or benefits realisation practices.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Formal training in project management, business case development, or continuous improvement methodologies.
