About Goddard Riverside and the Options Center
Goddard Riverside (GR) is a long-standing social service organization that aids over 20,000 individuals annually on the Upper West Side and across New York City. It offers a wide range of programs catering to all age groups. The Options Center at GR focuses on assisting New Yorkers in enrolling and succeeding in college. This is achieved through counseling services for teenagers and adults, professional training in schools and communities, and facilitating discussions around equity in higher education. Since 1985, Options has supported youth college enrollment, has trained professionals since 2005, and has aided college student retention since 2012. Currently, the program serves more than 2,000 individuals each year.
Role Summary and Responsibilities
The role of College Success Counselor involves guiding young people and adults to continue their postsecondary education successfully. This is accomplished through personalized one-on-one counseling, conducting workshops, advocating for students, and sharing essential resources.
Working Hours
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm, with work performed on-site. Some evening and weekend hours are also necessary to accommodate student requirements and campus visits. Work hours might fluctuate depending on student needs.
Compensation and Qualifications
The salary for this role ranges between $53,000 and $60,000 annually. Offers will be determined based on the candidate's specific experience in this or related roles, with additional consideration given to preferred qualifications.
