Role Overview
As a Coffee Roaster at Campos Coffee, you will be responsible for roasting coffee to the required standard and on time so that flavour consistency and customer demand are met. This position is based at Campos HQ in Banksmeadow, where roasting takes place every day.
The role requires flexibility, as you may be rostered onto a regular Monday-to-Friday shift from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, or onto a rotating shift that begins between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and ends between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on business needs. Occasional overtime may be available and will be paid.
Key Responsibilities
You will work across roasting, coordination, and quality control to support smooth daily operations and consistent output.
- Roast coffee in line with the expected sensory profile.
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure all batches are completed and ready on time.
- Keep wastage to a minimum.
- Adhere to safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Build your coffee knowledge through guidance from experts and participation in regular cupping sessions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be genuinely committed to doing excellent work, contributing positively to the team, and delivering great service.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stay focused and avoid distractions while working.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks.
- Interest in coffee and enthusiasm for learning the Campos roasting approach.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Physical ability to lift up to 24 kg, with training provided.
- Valid Australian working rights with no restrictions.
