About the opportunity

Medissist is developing a fully offline, privacy-first AI clinical assistant designed for GP practices. The product is built with no cloud dependency and no data leakage risk, with privacy and DSGVO compliance embedded from the start. The software architecture has already been validated, the safety framework is in place, and the company is currently working on an EXIST-Gründerstipendium application with a university.

This role is for a Co-Founder / Marketing & Growth Lead who will join the founding team and take ownership of the commercial side of the company from the ground up. The position is based in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany and is intended for someone who wants to build a company rather than simply fill a job.

What you will own

• Go-to-market planning and execution for the German general practitioner market, including segmentation, positioning, and pricing.
• Active monitoring of funding opportunities across the EU and Germany, such as healthtech grants, accelerators, and deep-tech programmes including EXIST Forschungstransfer, EIC Accelerator, DiGA pathways, KfW, and BMWK initiatives.
• Relationship building with Kassenärztliche Vereinigungen, medical associations, practice networks, and potential pilot customers through events, outreach, and direct meetings.
• Development of the brand and community around the “Local-First AI” message, including LinkedIn visibility, conference presence, and founder-led storytelling ahead of launch.
• Ownership of business operations that turn the product roadmap into a commercial plan, including direct web sales and B2B licensing opportunities for clinics and other sensitive-sector operators.
• Co-authoring the commercial, market, and team sections of the EXIST application, which is an immediate and time-sensitive task.

Who fits this role

You should have a Master of Science degree in Business, Business Informatics, Marketing, or a closely related field, completed within the last five years. You must also be eligible for the EXIST-Gründerstipendium, which means being based at a German university or willing to affiliate with one.

Strong German and English communication skills are essential, with at least B2 level in both languages, as you will speak with German physicians and draft sections for EU grant applications. Beyond the commercial profile, the ideal person is genuinely interested in healthtech, privacy, or edge AI. You should also be a proactive networker who follows up consistently, attends events, and keeps opportunities moving forward.

What you get

The role comes with a government-backed stipend of approximately €2,500 to €3,000 per month for 12 months. You will also gain access to university infrastructure, including labs, seminars, and the EXIST founder network. In addition, the position offers visibility within the BMWK and EXIST ecosystem, experience across embedded AI, medical compliance, and edge hardware, and early exposure to an investor pipeline. The EXIST designation is also a recognised signal for German and European deep-tech investors.

This is a co-founder position, so the focus is on shaping the company rather than completing narrowly defined tasks. Medissist is looking for someone who wants to help build one of the more defensible niches in European healthtech.
