About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Research Scientist to join our team, providing an excellent opportunity for a skilled clinical research professional to lead impactful projects that generate significant evidence and enhance patient care outcomes.

In this position, you will oversee multiple research studies on a daily basis, ensuring adherence to rigorous scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards. You will facilitate the integration of research within clinical settings while collaborating with clinicians, governance teams, data experts, and external collaborators.

This leadership role involves a hands-on approach combining project management, research proficiency, and team leadership to guarantee efficient and high-quality study execution with a focus on compliance and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the execution of clinical and real-world evidence research projects from initiation to completion.
  • Design research protocols, compile study documentation, submit ethics and governance applications, develop SOPs, and establish operational workflows.
  • Supervise and mentor research personnel, fostering their growth while maintaining scientific and operational excellence.
  • Manage participant recruitment, follow-up data collection, quality control, and compliance monitoring.
  • Track study progression, address risks, and implement corrective measures to fulfill project goals successfully.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), GDPR, research governance, and relevant regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret research findings to support evidence generation aimed at improving healthcare outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, academic publications, presentations, and evidence summaries.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, academic institutions, and external stakeholders to incorporate research into clinical practice.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships across internal and external groups to facilitate research success.

Requirements

  • A degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Public Health, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in conducting clinical research within healthcare, academia, life sciences, or similarly regulated settings.
  • Proven leadership experience managing research projects and teams.
  • In-depth understanding of GCP, research governance, ethics, informed consent, GDPR, and UK clinical research laws.
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare systems including NICE guidelines and NHS frameworks.
  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities to juggle multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Advanced analytical skills with a background in interpreting healthcare or clinical research data.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Familiarity with medical cannabis, chronic disease, pain management, health economics, outcomes research, or statistical tools is beneficial but not required.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, capable of managing complex research programs in dynamic environments.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between A360,000 and A365,000 annually.
