Position Overview
We are inviting applications for Clinical Associate (Medical Officer) and Resident Physician / Staff Registrar / Staff Physician roles based in tertiary public hospitals across Singapore, comprising facilities with 800 to 1800 beds. These positions cover a range of specialties including Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Orthopaedic Surgery, Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Radiology, ENT, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Hand Surgery, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, General Medicine, Cardiology, Geriatric Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Palliative Care, Medical Oncology, Haemato-Oncology, Intensive Care Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and one vacancy for Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Role Responsibilities
The Clinical Associate will operate under temporary medical registration, performing duties equivalent to a junior medical officer or resident. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient care management in wards, assisting outpatient clinics, and participating in operating theater activities when relevant.
Candidate Requirements
- Active engagement in clinical practice
- Possession of a basic Medical Degree from an accredited medical university or school recognized in its jurisdiction
- Successful completion of relevant national licensing exams where applicable
- Between 3 to 6 years of post-housemanship experience as a Medical Officer in the applicable specialty
- Additional qualifications such as MRCP, MRCS, MRCEM, FRCR, FRCS, FRCEM, FRCOphth, or FRCA are advantageous, especially if residency training in the relevant discipline has been completed
- Strong teamwork ability and proficient spoken and written English communication skills
- Capable of handling on-call duties
For the Resident Physician or Staff Physician posts, candidates must have either:
- A basic medical degree from universities registrable with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC); candidates holding an MD from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) are also encouraged to apply
- Or postgraduate medical qualifications (e.g., MRCP, FRCR, FRCS, FRCEM, FRCOphth, FRCA) that are registrable with the SMC
Compensation and Benefits
Clinical Associate (Medical Officer)
- Two-year non-renewable contract
- Basic monthly salary ranging from SGD 4,500 to 5,000, dependent on experience and qualifications
- Monthly housing allowance of SGD 1,000
- Annual Wage Supplement (AWS)
- A gratuity bonus equivalent to two months’ salary upon completion of contract
- 4 to 6 on-call shifts per month with additional on-call allowances
- Annual leave of 24 days
- 14 days of sick leave
- 11 public holidays annually
- Reimbursement of medical malpractice insurance
Resident Physician
- Contract duration of 2 to 3 years, renewable
- Basic monthly salary between SGD 6,500 and 7,500, varying by experience and qualifications
- Monthly housing allowance of SGD 1,500
- Annual Wage Supplement and performance bonus
- 4 to 6 on-call duties monthly with corresponding allowance
- 24 days annual leave
- 14 days sick leave
- 11 public holidays
- Medical malpractice insurance costs reimbursed
