Job description
Job Location and Shift Pattern
This role is based in Lesmahagow, Scotland and operates on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotating shift system including both days and nights.
Compensation and Work Schedule
Starting pay is set at 16.50 per hour with an additional night premium of 2.75 per hour for hours worked between 9 PM and 4 AM. Day shifts commence between 5-6 AM, while night shifts start between 5-6 PM, enabling a balanced schedule.
Role Responsibilities
- Navigate and operate curtain-sided trailers to deliver palletized shipments securely and efficiently.
- Ensure all cargo is appropriately strapped and secured to prevent any damage or shifting during transit.
- Perform mandatory daily vehicle inspections using a company mobile device to maintain compliance and safety standards.
- Maintain consistent communication with the transport team to facilitate smooth operations and meet customer requirements.
- Engage in ongoing training sessions to uphold industry best practices, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Route Details
- Northern route involves multiple drop-offs between Lesmahagow and East Kilbride, providing dynamic delivery experiences.
- Southern route is predominantly a single-drop journey from Lesmahagow to Wakefield, offering longer, steadier driving durations.
- Routes may be subject to short notice adjustments to satisfy client contracts and operational needs.

Qualifications and Attributes
- Must hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) driving licence.
- Possession of up-to-date DCPC certification and a digital tachograph card is required.

- Good geographical knowledge and map reading skills.
- Physically fit, flexible, industrious, and self-driven.
