Role overview
UPMC is hiring an Access to Care Claims Submission Specialist for an 11-month fixed-term contract. The role is based full time at the Cleaboy Business Office, Unit 4 in Waterford, County Waterford. This position sits within an integrated healthcare team supporting administrative operations across UPMC services.
The Access to Care team focuses on the efficient handling of administrative support tasks across the organisation. The successful candidate will work with speed, accuracy, and flexibility to help support the team’s mission of improving access to patient care. The ideal person will be detail-focused, adaptable, responsive, and eager to learn in a busy environment. Strong organisation and comfort using technology to work collaboratively are important.
Primary duties
- Process public and private claims promptly and accurately.
- Monitor unbilled claims and work with business partners to make sure submissions are correct and sent on time.
- Handle questions and issues raised by internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist the claims submission team with ongoing projects.
- Deal with patient enquiries relating to claims submissions.
- Build practical knowledge of private health insurance and insurance verification.
- Communicate clearly with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Provide broad administrative support to keep services running smoothly.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have at least 12 months of experience in a comparable role and a Business/Secretarial qualification. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Experience with healthcare systems, including iPims, is considered an advantage.
Employment details
This is a fixed-term, full-time onsite position at UPMC Cleaboy Office in Waterford. The role is for 39 hours per week. The stated salary range for the equivalent full-time permanent contract is €30,500 to €43,273 per annum. The company notes that the job outline may change as business needs evolve.
