Role overview
Allstate is hiring a Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits MIG for its Ontario team. This role is responsible for assessing, investigating, and settling accident benefit claims in accordance with the Insurance Act and related regulations. The position requires accurate and timely handling of claims, strong documentation practices, and effective coordination with claimants and their representatives. The role is home-based.
Key accountabilities
- Review accident benefit claims to determine coverage, eligibility, and the appropriate outcome.
- Handle claim files involving medical rehabilitation and disability benefits.
- Keep electronic claim records complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Reply to claimant communications and accident benefit forms in line with legal requirements.
- Support departmental and organizational objectives by taking on additional assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on professional and helpful customer service.
- Background in a medical or legal environment is considered an advantage.
- At least a minimum post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 to 2 years of experience adjusting insurance claims or performing a similar function is preferred.
- Enrollment in CIP, or completion of the designation, is preferred.
