Senior Accounting Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Accounting Specialist to become a key member of our team. This position is crucial for ensuring the precision and quality of accounting operations, supervising tasks carried out by team members, and upholding excellent financial accuracy standards. The successful candidate will have strong accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach focused on solutions.

Primary Duties

• Conduct thorough reviews and validations of accounting tasks done by team members, including auditing of working papers, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Guarantee correctness and compliance of accounting entries within platforms such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, and other finance software.
• Take the lead in client communications, addressing questions, resolving problems, and offering clear advice with little supervision.
• Work collaboratively with team members to enhance accounting processes and quickly address any discrepancies.
• Maintain strong knowledge of accounting principles and keep abreast of relevant laws and industry best practices.
• Help prepare financial statements and related supporting documents as needed.
• Foster a positive team atmosphere and encourage ongoing process improvements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a firm grasp of accounting principles.
• High proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks and Zoho Books.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in handling client interactions.
• Strong attention to detail ensuring precise work output.
• Innovative problem-solving capabilities with creative thinking.
• Capacity to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
