Children's Healthcare Support Worker

Overview

The Children’s Community Nursing Team is expanding and inviting compassionate individuals eager to provide clinical nursing support to children and young people closer to home. This role involves assisting with a variety of clinical care tasks in community settings such as schools, clinics, and patient homes, significantly impacting young lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver delegated nursing interventions for children and young people with additional health needs under the guidance of Children’s Community Nurses (CCNs).
• Perform clinical care activities including monitoring growth, blood pressure, baseline observations, wound care, routine enteral tube management, oxygen monitoring, venepuncture, and administering selected injectable medicines.
• Collaborate within the team to ensure timely transport of clinical samples to laboratories and maintain clinical supplies and equipment for patient care.
• Operate independently at clinic sites, support colleagues during home and school visits, and assist at the office base as necessary.

Requirements and Conditions

• Must possess a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
• Commitment to ongoing competency-based training provided by the team.
• Ability to work daily in varying community environments.
