Position Overview

This contract opportunity involves serving as a Child and Online Safety Expert focused on promoting adolescent mental health and safety in virtual spaces. The role demands a commitment of 10 to 40 hours weekly and offers compensation ranging from $50 to $90 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct detailed taxonomies around digital issues such as self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and emotional dependence impacting youth.
  • Set standards for digital support and clinical safety tailored to youth mental health concerns.
  • Develop detection mechanisms to identify and evaluate harmful online content and advice related to mental health crises among minors.
  • Design clinical response and escalation protocols for vulnerable individuals interacting in online environments.
  • Partner with project leads to align evaluation criteria and safety guidelines with the latest research and clinical best practices.
  • Provide expertise on policies adjacent to CSAM and issues relating to online child exploitation to enhance safety protocols.
  • Communicate clear, actionable feedback both verbally and in writing to guide ongoing AI safety tool development.

Candidate Requirements

  • Substantial experience in adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, eating disorder intervention, or similar areas.
  • Certified mental health practitioner such as a licensed therapist, psychiatrist, clinician, or professional with direct crisis care experience.
  • Proven skills in clinical risk evaluation and intervention especially within digital or online contexts.
  • Possession of an advanced degree, specialized credentials, or equivalent practical experience in mental health or child protection fields.
  • Background in working on CSAM-adjacent policies or child online exploitation prevention programs.
  • Excellent proficiency in both written and verbal communication, capable of simplifying complex information for a diverse audience.
