Position Overview

The Specialist, Family Engagement for the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) programs will develop strong, supportive relationships with assigned families across a caseload of approximately 40 to 48 families. This role aims to promote family engagement outcomes and child development by coordinating community assessments and ensuring compliance with program standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 40-48 families at assigned EHS-CCP sites.
• Implement the Head Start Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework to enhance cooperation and family participation across services.
• Build partnerships with families to nurture parent-child bonds and support family wellness.
• Assist families in areas including safety, health, financial stability, and personal goal planning.
• Respect and adapt to the diverse cultures, languages, values, and family structures within the community.
• Encourage parents' roles as lifelong educators and active program participants.
• Guide families in adhering to program policies and participating in assessments and parenting sessions.
• Educate parents about leadership opportunities such as Policy Council involvement and community engagements.
• Recruit and aid families in applying and securing subsidies through the Early Learning Coalition – School Readiness program.
• Conduct home visits for enrollment, follow-ups on absences, or address child safety concerns.
• Provide emotional support and refer families to external services during crisis situations.
• Organize group activities and monthly events to support family interests and strengths.
• Connect families with community resources that aid their well-being and children's development.
• Collaborate as part of the service team to ensure integrated family support and act as liaison between families and program staff.
• Support planning and execution of Early Head Start goals and performance standards, ensuring seamless program delivery.
• Maintain compliance with Early Head Start standards, especially under ERSEA protocols using Child Plus and other data systems.
• Assist in recruitment efforts to fill program vacancies and maintain high enrollment levels.
• Analyze attendance issues and develop action plans to improve daily attendance rates below 85%.
• Handle monthly tracking and reporting related to Family Engagement service data.
• Keep all service information confidential and participate in ongoing professional development and reflective supervision.
• Complete the Family Engagement Credential within the first 18 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Must complete 15 professional development hours annually, including CPR training.
• Experience in data collection and management systems with knowledge of policy and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with enrollment data analysis and Head Start performance standards is desirable.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in database management, spreadsheets, word processing, and email; knowledge of current web browsers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with strong problem-solving and policy interpretation skills.
• Ability to work professionally both independently and collaboratively within teams.

• Annual salary range: $41,209 to $59,766.
