Chief Technology Officer

Role overview

Morgan McKinley is looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Chief Technology Officer to shape the organisation’s technology direction. The role will focus on cloud migration, infrastructure renewal, and the introduction of new technologies that strengthen security, scalability, and resilience. It will also champion innovation through AI, automation, AIOps, and contemporary engineering approaches.

What you will do

• Create and deliver the enterprise technology roadmap so it stays aligned with business goals and growth ambitions.
• Own major programmes for cloud adoption, infrastructure refresh, and platform modernisation.
• Introduce AI, generative AI, automation, AIOps, and similar technologies to improve efficiency and business performance.
• Set up modern cloud operating models, platform engineering practices, and automation-led ways of working.
• Manage cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, technology operations, and cybersecurity teams and functions.
• Make sure systems are secure, dependable, scalable, and aligned with regulatory obligations.
• Strengthen operational performance through observability, reliability engineering, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Guide technology investment decisions, vendor relationships, cloud spend optimisation, and value delivery initiatives.
• Work closely with executive stakeholders to identify and execute technology-enabled transformation opportunities.
• Recruit, develop, and inspire high-performing technology teams while embedding innovation and continuous improvement into the culture.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience leading technology functions, with senior-level responsibility across cloud, infrastructure, engineering, and technology operations.
• Successful history of driving enterprise cloud transformation and large-scale infrastructure modernisation efforts.
• Deep knowledge of cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, along with hybrid infrastructure, platform engineering, and automation.
• Hands-on exposure to AI, automation, AIOps, or large-scale digital transformation programmes.
• Sound understanding of cybersecurity, operational resilience, governance, and risk management.
• Strong ability to influence and communicate with C-suite leaders and Board-level stakeholders.
• Commercially astute, with experience handling technology budgets, vendors, and major transformation initiatives.
