Job description

About Kinyara Health

Kinyara Health is a purpose-led organisation dedicated to preserving local, personal care for older Australians and people living with disability. The business supports people to find their long-term home care through community brands operating across New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

The group is privately backed and growing, with a service model designed to protect the legacy of community-founded businesses while strengthening them through shared services and a modern, technology-enabled approach. The focus is on improving outcomes without losing the human connection that clients and communities value.

You will join an Executive Leadership Team that sees leadership as a driver of culture as well as performance. The organisation values openness, honesty and self-reflection, and expects leaders to build trust, strengthen culture and keep people at the centre of exceptional care and community impact.

The Opportunity

As Chief People Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Kinyara’s future by building the leadership capability, culture and workforce strength needed to deliver exceptional care. This role calls for a leader who combines empathy with commercial thinking to guide a contemporary people strategy that improves performance, deepens engagement and helps teams thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the people strategy and provide executive leadership across the full employee journey, ensuring the business has the capability, engagement and performance needed to succeed.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on organisational effectiveness, culture, workforce planning and key strategic decisions.
  • Build a workplace where people feel connected, valued and empowered, while improving engagement, wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration and ongoing improvement so that people practices support both high performance and compassionate care.
  • Guide and coach leaders across the organisation as they manage change, motivate teams and create positive employee experiences.
  • Lead the People & Culture function, shaping a trusted, responsive and commercially aware team that supports both operations and communities.
  • Make sure people practices reflect Kinyara’s commitment to safety, fairness, inclusion and compliance, while keeping employee experience front and centre.
  • Safeguard and strengthen the organisation’s culture by embedding its values as the business continues to grow.
  • Travel regularly interstate and across the three sites in Carrum Downs, Tullamarine and Balaclava.

About You

You are an experienced senior leader who can translate people strategy into business impact. You will bring a strong blend of culture-building capability, commercial judgment and hands-on leadership across the full employee lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated executive leadership experience with a history of developing people, culture and organisational strategies that support growth, performance and long-term success.
  • Deep knowledge of the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance, succession and engagement.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to balance workforce priorities with organisational needs in a changing environment.
  • Experience leading organisations through growth, transformation and change while preserving trust, engagement and cultural alignment.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing People & Culture teams and foster a values-based, accountable and high-performance environment.
  • Commitment to building workplaces that are safe, inclusive and representative of the communities served.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience within healthcare, aged care, disability services or another purpose-driven sector is preferred.

Application Process

Applications are reviewed individually and with care. If your background aligns with the role, the team will contact you directly to continue the discussion.

The organisation asks candidates to submit their application through this advertisement as the preferred way to express interest.
