About the Role

Our client represents one of the largest and most reputable single-manager equity hedge fund launches in the past decade. Amid ongoing growth, the Founder & CIO is seeking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support scaling efforts.

Role Overview

The person selected for this pivotal position will act as an integral extension of the CIO, driving operational efficiency as the firm expands. Key responsibilities include managing communication internally and externally, overseeing both investment and non-investment personnel, and coordinating cross-functional projects to ensure organizational alignment and success. This role demands a proactive individual with exceptional project management skills combined with strong leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage critical priorities, projects, and follow-ups across various teams to maintain transparent workflows and timely execution.
  • Serve as a reliable liaison, facilitating smooth communication channels and effectively relaying feedback among stakeholders.
  • Convert unstructured data and information into streamlined workflows that enhance team organization and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the CIO to nurture talent development across the firm and foster a positive, high-performing corporate culture.
  • Partner with the CIO and COO functions to review, identify, and implement operational process improvements and onboarding procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum nine years of professional experience, preferably in chief of staff or COO capacities.
  • Proven track record in project management within dynamic, high-pressure environments such as finance, consulting, or similar sectors.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability for work deliverables.
  • Possess excellent academic background with a Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in finance, economics, mathematics, or related disciplines.
