Role Overview
RPM Hire is looking to appoint a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will be an integral part of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the COO and collaborating closely with the Executive Team and Board, the CFO will direct the finance operations and guide the strategic financial planning for RPM Hire and its subsidiaries. This role requires a commercially astute, hands-on finance leader who partners effectively with operations to drive company performance and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives, growth ambitions, and long-term viability.
- Oversee comprehensive financial management including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, taxation, payroll, treasury, and related finance functions.
- Continuously assess financial results, identify risks and prospects, and provide insightful commercial and strategic guidance to senior leadership and the Board.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, funding needs, and allocation of capital resources to preserve financial health.
- Guarantee adherence to financial regulations, accounting principles, statutory mandates, and corporate governance standards.
- Establish and uphold robust financial governance frameworks, risk controls, and accountability structures.
- Lead financial modeling, detailed business case development, investment evaluations, and initiatives that underpin business expansion and operational enhancement.
- Build and maintain key relationships with external parties such as auditors, banking partners, investors, insurers, and professional consultants.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance Team while fostering a high-performance culture emphasizing collaboration, accuracy, and accountability.
- Drive ongoing improvement in finance systems, reporting accuracy, processes, controls, and business intelligence capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field is required.
- Essential CPA or CA accreditation, with advanced postgraduate qualifications viewed favorably.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in finance, including at least five years in senior leadership roles such as CFO or Finance Director.
- Proven track record managing finance functions in large-scale, multi-entity, or complex organizations.
- Extensive expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, governance, reporting, and strategic financial management.
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to deliver data-driven, pragmatic advice that supports sustainable growth.
- Comprehensive understanding of corporate finance, accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Advanced skills in analytical thinking, financial modeling, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero; familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools is advantageous.
- Experience within hire, construction, logistics, transport, infrastructure, or associated industries is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership capability with a track record of developing and motivating teams, driving accountability, and fostering a positive work culture.
