Job description

About the Company

Boulder Imaging is a privately held, private equity-backed machine vision technology business that is growing quickly. Its software-driven Vision Inspector platform is designed for high-throughput image processing and real-time automated inspection, detection, and decision-making in regulated and industrial settings where speed, precision, and reliability are essential.

The company’s solutions are used for mission-critical applications such as bird strike reduction for onshore wind farms, high-speed banknote inspection for central banks, and automated surface and dimensional inspection for architectural building products.

This role is based at the company headquarters in Louisville, Colorado, and the team works from the office.

Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will act as a core business partner to the CEO and executive team, guiding Boulder Imaging through its next stage of expansion. The position is responsible for building a finance organization that can support continued innovation, international growth, and rising operational complexity.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with a strong background in finance leadership at high-growth technology companies. The role calls for someone who can improve financial discipline, deliver accurate and timely reporting, and strengthen operational visibility while supporting global scale.

The CFO will lead all finance-related functions, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, compliance, reporting, international finance operations, insurance, audit, and risk management.

  • Improve working capital usage to increase operational efficiency.

Accounting and Reporting

  • Oversee accounting operations, monthly close, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting to the executive team, investors, and the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant international accounting standards.
  • Manage annual audits, tax coordination, and key banking and financial relationships.
  • Design and maintain scalable systems, policies, and internal controls suitable for a growing technology company.

Risk, Compliance, and Insurance

  • Lead enterprise risk management across operational, financial, regulatory, international, and insurance-related areas.
  • Work with legal and operations teams to maintain compliance with U.S. and global regulations.
  • Assess commercial, contractual, and financial risks tied to customers, suppliers, and international activity.
  • Oversee insurance coverage and business continuity planning.

Capital and Investor Relations

  • Support financing activities, capital structure decisions, lender relationships, and investor communication.
  • Prepare financial decks and materials for monthly reporting, Board meetings, funding discussions, and strategic transactions.

Team Leadership

  • Build, coach, and grow a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
