Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President / Head of Finance will act as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to the executive leadership. This role encompasses wide-ranging financial and accounting leadership responsibilities, including financial planning, forecasting, reporting, cash flow oversight, profitability enhancement, risk management, and corporate governance.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior executives by delivering financial insights to support growth and value creation.
- Collaborate with leaders in operations, sales, supply chain, merchandising, and technology to drive performance and meet business goals.
- Contribute to enterprise strategy development through data analysis, financial modeling, and business planning activities.
- Guide budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and financial analysis processes.
- Create financial reporting and KPIs that reinforce decision-making and accountability.
- Analyze financial results and identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and working capital.
- Supervise all accounting and finance functions including treasury, tax, credit, banking, payables, and receivables, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulations.
- Direct preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory reports.
- Lead initiatives to enhance financial processes, controls, and reporting.
- Manage cash flow forecasts, liquidity, and working capital optimization.
- Partner with operations to improve margins, inventory performance, cost control, and overall profitability.
- Maintain strong financial controls, oversee audits, tax compliance, insurance, and banking relationships.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risk, safeguarding assets.
- Lead and develop accounting, finance, and credit teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Implement succession planning, coaching, and talent development to strengthen organizational capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and finance roles, with senior finance leadership exposure.
- Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, apparel, retail, wholesale distribution, food and beverage, or complex operational industries.
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, treasury, tax, and audit processes.
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and strategic business planning.
- Solid knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, bill of materials (BOMs), supply chain operations, and distribution.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Strong ability to influence senior executives through financial storytelling and strategic advice.
- Able to transform complex financial data into actionable decisions to drive growth and profit.
- Demonstrated success in building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Strategic, commercially savvy, and hands-on leader comfortable in fast-paced environments.
