Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the surgical facility.
  • Serving as a liaison among the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all departments, often via assigned committees.
  • Providing regular activity reports to the Governing Board.
  • Designating an alternate who acts in the CEO’s absence.
  • Planning and managing services and overall hospital operations.
  • Managing the partnership per the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement.
  • Leading discussions and presentations during monthly review calls and Governing Board meetings with USPI’s Home Office Business Operations team.
  • Implementing and monitoring USPI’s EDGE™ operational processes and ensuring integration with the facility’s Quality Performance Indicators (QPI) program.
  • Ensuring adherence to USPI policies, procedures, and internal control measures.
  • Overseeing staffing levels, operational budget, capital expenditures, and procurement within budget constraints and compliance guidelines.
  • Maintaining compliance with government regulations and accreditations.
  • Negotiating and managing external contracts including those with physicians and service vendors.
  • Establishing procedure pricing through cost analysis and market comparison.
  • Developing positive interdepartmental relations and acting as a key liaison between the Home Office and facility staff.
  • Creating and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring financial performance vigilantly to prevent cash flow issues.
