About Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA)
MPPA is a public power organization committed to serving its member communities with integrity, professionalism, and regulatory excellence. The agency is currently seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to lead its strategic growth and maintain outstanding service to stakeholders following the retirement of its current CEO in spring 2027.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Offer visionary leadership aligned with MPPA's mission and long-term strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Board of Commissioners and executive leadership team to ensure organizational success.
- Enhance organizational performance by driving operational excellence.
- Oversee financial management and risk mitigation efforts.
- Strengthen and cultivate relationships with members, partners, regulators, legislators, and peers within the industry.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven years in progressively senior leadership roles, including at least four years in senior leadership with responsibility for multiple stakeholder groups.
- At least five years experience in strategic planning and successfully leading initiatives from concept through to implementation.
- At least ten years of experience within the electric utility sector or competitive wholesale energy markets.
