Job description

Company Overview

Lifecor is building a life insurance carrier from the ground up, with AI at the core of its underwriting and operations. The company uses automated decisioning, live data systems, and modern technology to create life insurance products that are quicker, clearer, and more intelligent. Its operating approach blends disciplined risk oversight with advanced AI so the business can scale efficiently while maintaining precision.

Lifecor is designed around aligned incentives for policyholders, distribution partners, and the company itself, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture. This is a chance to join an early-stage carrier that is helping shape the next generation of life insurance.

Role Summary

The CFO / Capital Markets Lead will drive financial planning, capital strategy, fundraising readiness, and the investor-facing financial story for Lifecor. This is a strategic finance role rather than a pure accounting position.

The right candidate will know how to build robust financial models, assess capital requirements, analyze insurance economics, support fundraising discussions, and partner closely with actuarial, reinsurance, operating, and executive teams. The position also includes evaluating acquisition, partnership, and platform opportunities.

This role is suited to someone who can work in an early-stage setting, make decisions with limited information, and help establish the financial foundation of a new life insurance carrier.

Key Focus Areas

  • Develop and maintain Lifecor’s financial model.
  • Assess startup and carrier-level capital needs.
  • Support discussions with private equity and strategic investors.
  • Contribute to evaluating acquisitions, partnerships, and platform-related opportunities.
  • Work across finance, actuarial, reinsurance, operations, and leadership functions.

Qualifications

  • Strong finance background with solid analytical capability.
  • Experience in life insurance carrier environments is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Advanced ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements.
  • Experience in capital markets, corporate finance, or investment banking, ideally in insurance or financial services.
  • History of raising capital and managing relationships with investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of insurance financial frameworks, risk management, and regulatory factors is an advantage.
  • Comfort working remotely in a fast-moving, data-centric environment with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA, CFA, or similar advanced credential is a plus.
