Job description
Overview
This role supports AI research with flexible, hourly contract work focused on merchandising and category management expertise. It is designed for professionals who can use real-world knowledge in pricing, markdown planning, and competitive analysis to review AI-generated outputs and help improve how AI understands category management workflows.
It is an ongoing, project-based engagement that can be done alongside other commitments.
What the work involves
You will apply your day-to-day professional experience and familiarity with the tools used in your field to produce expert training data and assess AI responses for correctness and relevance. Prior experience with AI systems is not required.
The work is fully remote, follows an asynchronous schedule, and has no minimum hours requirement. When a project is active, contributors typically spend about 5 to 20 hours per week.
Placement is dependent on current project demand, and you may be considered for future projects as openings arise.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring at least 5 years of professional background in merchandising, category management, or buying. Relevant experience may come from roles such as SAP Ariba Functional Consultant, Strategic Sourcing Manager, Procurement Manager, Category Manager, Category Buyer, Source-to-Pay Analyst, S2P Functional Analyst, Procurement Analyst, Procurement Specialist, Procurement Operations Analyst, Sourcing Analyst, Sourcing Coordinator, Supplier Management Analyst, Procure-to-Pay Analyst, or Coupa Administrator. Equivalent experience in retail is also acceptable.
Strong writing ability, careful attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and asynchronously with research teams are important.
Additional information
This opportunity is not a traditional full-time employment role; it is a flexible, hourly contract arrangement tied to project availability.
