About Presbyterian Support Central (PSC)
Joining PSC means becoming part of a reputable not-for-profit organisation with over 115 years of experience dedicated to supporting individuals through vulnerable times. The organisation has two main service arms: Enliven, which provides positive ageing services to create supportive environments where older people experience companionship and choice; and Family Works, which offers social services including counselling and parenting programs to children and families.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Health Care Assistant for casual shifts (AM, PM and Night) covering all seven days of the week at Kandahar Home, which offers Rest Home and Hospital level care. You will be part of the Enliven team supporting residents with quality, person-centred care in a collaborative and flexible work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Elders with daily living and care needs
- Promote residents' independence and encourage them to make decisions about their care
- Deliver personalised, high-quality support tailored to each individual
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and promote best practices
- Work under guidance and supervision of Registered Nurses
- Ensure residents’ needs are addressed promptly and effectively
Applicant Profile
Ideal candidates will possess strong empathy and compassion for older people, combined with organisational skills and excellent interpersonal communication. We value a person-centred and respectful attitude aligned with our core values.
- Completion of a Level 2 or higher Health and Wellbeing Certificate
- Passion for supporting older people's wellbeing
- Patience, organisational ability, and effective teamwork
- Good verbal communication and documentation competency
- Comfort and experience using computers to maintain digital records
