Role Overview
Equans invites applications for the position of Caretaker to join our team at Wheelers Lane Primary School in Birmingham (B13 0SF). This permanent full-time role involves working 37.5 hours weekly with a rotating 8-hour shift between 6am and 6pm. The annual salary offered is £26,728.21 along with an extensive benefits package.
Primary Duties
The caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the school's premises in line with the Project Agreement, ensuring all services meet consistently high standards. A close working relationship with both the school and community groups is essential.

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in facilities management encompassing litter control and basic building systems maintenance (required)
- Competency in creating risk assessments and method statements (required)
- Experience managing premises or caretaking in educational settings is advantageous
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of health and safety standards (required)
- Proficient organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines (required)
- Experience as a key holder with responsibility for site access (required)
Education and Credentials
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Mathematics and English recommended
- Trade or vocational qualifications relevant to the role are desirable
Personal Attributes
- Physically fit to perform caretaking duties (required)
- Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision (required)
- Team-oriented with a willingness to share knowledge (required)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills (required)

- Residence within 20 minutes of the site is required
