About the Role

Join the compassionate care team at Little Bridge House, Barnstaple, Children's Hospice South West. This part-time position offers 25 to 40 hours per week with a flexible 12.5-hour shift pattern option, where you can specify your preferred hours when applying. The salary range is between £27,438 and £31,646 annually (full-time equivalent), with additional pay for night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.

Our hospices are described by families as "happy, amazing, special and fun." Our staff share feelings of pride and fulfillment in making a meaningful difference for children with life-limiting conditions, providing respite, palliative, and bereavement care on a personalized, one-to-one basis. This allows strong bonds to be formed with children and their families both during hospice stays and in between visits, making this caring role deeply rewarding.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized care to children with life-limiting conditions, complex needs, or chronic illnesses.
  • Build supportive and trusting relationships with children and their families to enhance their hospice experience.
  • Collaborate within a close-knit team to maintain a positive, homely, and well-equipped care environment at Little Bridge House.

Requirements

  • Previous experience caring for children facing life-limiting or chronic health challenges.
  • A compassionate and dedicated approach suited to the children's hospice setting.
