Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate Caregiver for our Summerset Palms Village in Napier. This role is integral to a supportive team focused on providing safe, healthy, and enjoyable lifestyles for our residents. The position involves assisting residents with personal care and day-to-day activities primarily during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing meal delivery support and assisting residents during mealtimes
• Helping residents with personal hygiene tasks such as showering
• Supporting individual care plans, including accompanying residents on walks and assisting with exercises
• Facilitating recreational activities like puzzles and table tennis to engage residents

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position involving 64 to 80 hours every two weeks, following a roster of four consecutive night shifts followed by two days off.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in aged care or a similar caregiving role
• Excellent verbal communication skills to foster meaningful relationships with residents
• Willingness and ability to work rotational shifts covering mornings, afternoons, and nights
• Ability to maintain a roster cycle of 4 days on and 2 days off
