Responsibilities

- Support employees, managers, and mentors in developing and aligning individual development plans with business objectives.
- Prepare reports on career counseling services to identify ways to better align division services with employee goals and business needs.
- Stay current on trends, challenges, and developments in career counseling for early-career and experienced professionals, especially within the energy sector.
- Collaborate with career practitioners and counselors across the division and the wider organization to exchange knowledge and share effective practices.
- Keep clear and consistent records of counseling activities and service delivery for monitoring and reporting purposes, as needed by senior leadership.
- Continuously research career development, HR, and workforce trends to identify suitable practices and technologies for the organization.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork behaviors and contribute effectively in collaborative environments.
- Use career assessments, interpret them, and debrief results to identify motivators, personality preferences, strengths, and aspirations.
Requirements

- Active career counseling or guidance credentials and membership or affiliation with professional bodies such as the National Career Development Association, Career Development Institute, Career Professionals of Canada, Career Industry Council of Australia, or similar organizations.
- Between 6 and 10 years of experience in career development, including 3 to 5 years in career counseling/guidance and professional development work, ideally with experience training career counselors or practitioners.
- Broad background in career counseling or guidance, including some supervisory exposure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including consulting, counseling, presenting, and leading meetings.
- Experience delivering and facilitating training for internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
