Job description
Position Overview
Uniting is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Care Service Workers for rewarding roles based in Lilyfield, NSW. These opportunities include both part-time and full-time positions designed for individuals committed to making a positive difference in the lives of residents and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the welfare and safety of residents and clients at all times.
- Assist residents and clients with mobility, including support with wheelchairs when necessary.
- Provide help with basic personal hygiene tasks such as face and hand washing as required.
- Support all aspects of toileting, including guiding clients to facilities, offering physical assistance, adjusting clothing, and completing related tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold a valid driving licence authorized for use in Australia.
- Possession of, or willingness to attain, a Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate III in Ageing.
- Intermediate proficiency in English sufficient for effective communication.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, and able to maintain a positive work attitude.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to engaging with colleagues and clients.
- Influenza vaccination is mandatory or willingness to obtain this vaccination.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prior experience in aged care settings is wanted but not compulsory.
- A strong dedication to supporting frail elderly individuals and those with challenging behaviors or disabilities such as dementia, developmental disorders, or mental illnesses.
- Ability to deliver equitable and impartial care to all clients regardless of their race, religion, gender, or socioeconomic background.
- Capability to work well within a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with courteous customer service abilities.
