Role Overview

The Business Research Analyst / Investment Research Assistant will undertake comprehensive research tasks, analyze business and financial data, and provide insightful recommendations to aid investment decisions, strategic planning, and growth initiatives. This position requires transforming complex market and data information into straightforward, evidence-backed guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, validate, and analyze data from financial reports, market research sources, databases, and internal systems.
  • Conduct both quantitative and qualitative assessments to understand company performance, industry trends, market dynamics, and investment prospects.
  • Prepare detailed research reports, financial models, investment summaries, competitive benchmarking, dashboards, and presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Assist in valuation exercises, market sizing, risk analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, strategy, product, and investment teams to align research objectives and methodologies with overarching business goals.
  • Support due diligence efforts by organizing financial data, highlighting risks, and summarizing critical insights.
  • Continuously monitor economic trends, regulatory shifts, capital markets, and industry developments to maintain the relevance and accuracy of research findings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid understanding of corporate finance, investment research, financial analysis, business evaluation, valuation methods, and market research principles.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet modeling, financial analysis software, presentation tools, and data analysis platforms; knowledge of statistical and business intelligence tools is beneficial.
  • Strong abilities in critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and evaluating financial statements and investment opportunities.
  • Experience with valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and comparable company analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to produce professional research reports, briefs, and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • High organizational capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, a curious mindset, and adeptness at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
