Job description
About the Company
Phase Change Software is based in Lakewood, Colorado, near the Rocky Mountains. The company develops artificial intelligence tools that help examine, search, and maintain older source code. Its patented software-analysis approach is designed to significantly advance software development, and the team is preparing the product for production use.
The organization is focused on ambitious technical work at the frontier of what can be formally proven and programmed. It is seeking experienced professionals who want to contribute to a product with long-term impact in the AI space.
Values and Team Culture
The company values innovation, productivity, and a human-centered approach. The role is suited to someone who is curious, emotionally intelligent, and efficient, and who enjoys working in a small, collaborative environment where responsibilities can shift as business needs evolve.
Role Overview
As the Business Operations Specialist focused on People Operations, you will support the people, processes, and day-to-day operational work that keep the business running smoothly during growth. In addition to core people operations work, you will help coordinate special projects that may include governance, compliance, and other company-wide priorities.
This position is intended for a seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience in people operations, business operations, or HR within a fast-moving, technology-oriented setting. The company is looking for someone who can contribute right away and move comfortably between routine administration and higher-level operational projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep HR files, SharePoint materials, business records, and repeatable operating procedures organized and up to date.
- Administer the Box virtual data room for governance records and investment-related materials.
- Support contract management processes for vendors and customers, working with outside counsel as needed, including NDA handling.
- Assist with corporate conversion work, SOC 2 compliance efforts, and other business-level projects as they come up.
- Manage vendor partnerships, subscriptions, office operations, and general administrative tasks.
- Look for ways to improve workflows through AI, automation, and stronger business processes.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, employee communications, and broader people operations activities for a small team.
- Step into additional tasks wherever needed to help the business progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in business operations, people operations, HR, or office administration in a technology-driven, corporate, or professional services environment.
- Exposure to legal operations, contract handling, or data room administration; prior paralegal-level experience is not required, but familiarity should not be starting from zero.
- Strong Microsoft 365 proficiency, including the ability to use Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and related productivity tools effectively.
- Practical experience using AI and automation to improve workflows and business efficiency.
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Detail-oriented analytical thinking and a genuine interest in solving problems.
- Clear professional communication skills for working with employees, vendors, and outside partners.
- Self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership and adapting as priorities change.
Compensation and Perks
- Annual salary range of $80,000 to $90,000.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Dog-friendly office environment.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technology.
Eligibility
Applications are open to U.S. citizens and Green Card holders. Only individual applicants are being considered.
