Job description

About the Company

HYBE America sits within HYBE, a global entertainment company operating at the intersection of music, technology, and culture. The organization works with some of the world’s most influential artists and is focused on expanding its creative reach and cultural influence across the Americas. Its workplace culture is centered on Passion, Autonomy, and Trust.

Role Overview

This position is for an experienced Business & Operations Director who will guide an artist development initiative and help trainees progress toward becoming HYBE America artists. The role serves as a central operations leader across artist development, legal and business affairs coordination, financial planning and analysis, and strategic project execution.

Working with creative, production, marketing, legal, and executive teams, the director will help ensure strong operational execution and financial discipline while supporting artist and content initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving entertainment environment. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Santa Monica, with on-site collaboration three days each week and remote work two days each week.

Training & Development Operations

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to build, refine, and improve training and development programs for artists and trainees.
  • Own program management to keep all training, development, and learning activities running smoothly.
  • Coordinate calendars and scheduling for artists and trainees across training, content, and project-related work.
  • Plan, track, and manage T&D budgets while making sure resources are allocated efficiently and financial goals are met.

Legal & Business Affairs

  • Review new business opportunities and help move them toward contractual agreements with Legal teams and/or outside counsel.
  • Spot business and legal risks across project operations and help reduce exposure where possible.
  • Handle contract administration and execution for artists and trainees while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Create and maintain near-term and longer-term business plans and financial forecasts.
  • Track budgets, financial results, and key performance metrics, then translate findings into recommendations that support decision-making.

Project Execution & Business Operations

  • Support cross-functional execution for artist development, content production, and broader business initiatives.
  • Assist with marketing, promotion, and audience growth efforts to improve project reach and business outcomes.

Qualifications

The role requires at least 7 years of experience in business management or business operations. Candidates should have a strong record of leading cross-functional work, delivering complex strategic initiatives from idea to implementation, and helping new businesses scale in high-growth, fast-paced environments. The job also calls for someone who can operate strategically and tactically, with a practical, hands-on approach to execution and problem-solving.

Preferred Background

It is a plus if you bring Korean-English bilingual fluency and prior experience in the music or entertainment industry.

Tools and Systems

The team uses Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft Excel at an advanced level for financial modeling, budgeting, and business analysis.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is USD 120,000 to USD 165,000 per year. This range reflects base pay only and does not include benefits or any other compensation components.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company 401(k) match of up to 5%
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Flexible spending account (FSA)
  • Life insurance
  • Wellhub membership with access to gyms and fitness studios
  • Strong parental leave support
