Where you'll work

Job description

About the company

Airbnb began in 2007, when two hosts opened their San Francisco home to three guests. Since then, it has expanded into a worldwide platform with millions of hosts and billions of guest arrivals across nearly every country. The company focuses on helping travelers connect with communities through distinctive stays and experiences.

The team

You will join the Chief Business Officer organization, which supports Airbnb’s global growth and expansion. This group works on commercializing new and existing businesses, building and improving worldwide supply, and carrying out market strategy across regions. Within that organization, the Global Markets team ensures Airbnb stays locally relevant and supports hosts and guests in a way that fits each market’s needs.

The team is hiring a Business Operations and Growth Lead for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) to help shape strategic decisions and drive growth in the region.

Role impact

In this position, you will partner closely with cross-functional leaders and teams to scale programs focused on community growth and optimization. The role reports to the Country Manager for ANZ and is based in Sydney, with an expectation of in-person office attendance and some flexibility in the schedule.

What you will do

  • Work alongside the Country Manager to align all functions around business goals for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Lead recurring business operations meetings and weekly project check-ins to keep priority initiatives moving forward.
  • Combine internal and external data sources to study broad and detailed market trends, then turn those findings into insights and action plans for country and regional leadership.
  • Manage day-to-day business analysis, spotting shifts early and adjusting plans to support growth and reduce risk.
  • Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives from idea to execution and measurement, including problem definition, solution design, dependency management, and stakeholder coordination across demand, supply, and regulatory areas.
  • Help the Country Manager shape the performance narrative for key metrics and present updates clearly in weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.

Experience and expertise

We are looking for someone with at least 10 years of experience, ideally with a mix of business growth, business analytics, and project management in a fast-moving entrepreneurial setting. Strong ownership, a practical mindset, and the ability to turn ambiguity into structure are important.

The right candidate should be a strong communicator who can present clearly at every level of the organization, influence varied stakeholders, and use both qualitative and quantitative evidence to build support for ideas. You should be comfortable working deep in the details while also stepping back to connect recommendations to broader company strategy.

Additional strengths include the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate across teams, document decisions and processes carefully, and deliver initiatives across globally distributed teams. A hands-on working style is essential. Experience with AI tools is an advantage. Strong Excel skills for large datasets are required, and SQL knowledge is highly preferred.

Inclusion

Airbnb is committed to building a broad and diverse talent pool. The company values varied perspectives and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
