Job description

About Airbnb

Airbnb began in 2007 when two hosts opened their home in San Francisco to three guests. Since then, the platform has expanded to a global community of more than 5 million hosts and over 2 billion guest arrivals across nearly every country. The company’s mission is built around unique stays and experiences that help guests connect more authentically with local communities.

The team you will join

The Community team focuses on enabling millions of hosts to grow their businesses, strengthen their relationships with guests and fellow hosts, and make a positive contribution to local communities. Hosts remain central to Airbnb’s approach, and the team works to support them through partnership, development, feedback loops, and product and policy improvements.

Role overview

The Host Communications Channels Lead will run the daily operations for Airbnb’s core learning and communication systems used by more than 5 million hosts worldwide. This role manages content systems and workflows that power in-app host messaging, email programs, and the Resource Center. The ideal candidate is highly structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both technical and creative partners. Their operational work will help create meaningful learning experiences for hosts while advancing Airbnb’s communications objectives.

What you will do

  • Prepare, review, and launch content, including scheduling and audience targeting to ensure messages go out accurately and on time.
  • Handle the full operational lifecycle for email campaigns, from request intake through delivery, while maintaining quality and process standards.
  • Set up and publish in-app messages using modular components and personalization features for targeted host communication.
  • Maintain content governance, classification systems, and workflow design to support consistency, scale, and quality across channels, while collaborating with global teams on localization.
  • Create and update documentation, playbooks, and best practices so internal partners and content creators can use content systems effectively.
  • Provide operational input and requirements that help shape scalable product capabilities; support BizTech, MarTech, and Engineering teams with testing and implementation feedback.
  • Track channel metrics and user data to identify optimization opportunities and improve the host experience and community-building efforts.
  • Work closely with Learning and UX partners to keep modules intuitive, engaging, and flexible as host needs change.
  • Contribute ideas, recommend new tools, and help improve channel operations to broaden impact across the host community.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and releases at once while maintaining precision, efficiency, and brand consistency.

What you should bring

  • At least 5 years of practical experience managing content on large digital platforms, including delivery and optimization for smooth user experiences.
  • Background in analyzing and improving publishing processes and campaign operations.
  • Experience working across product, engineering, design, and data functions.
  • Confidence partnering with engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve platform stability.
  • Strong technical communication skills and familiarity with how product development works.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, user insights, and product analytics to guide operational decisions.
  • Experience writing clear and detailed technical briefs that align product, design, and engineering teams.

Airbnb aims to attract the broadest possible talent pool and values diverse perspectives. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
